About Me

Welcome to The Dog Analyst, my name is Christina.

My earliest exposure to dogs was as a young child living in the United States with various family dogs including my parents' protection dogs used in the family business. This childhood experience created an interest in dogs for life. My fascination grew into a passion and respect for this intelligent species, prompting a strong desire to contribute towards advocating for their welfare.

Having had a successful career for many years as a healthcare professional in the NHS, I began studying animal behaviour and professional dog grooming and styling, before finally making the career change to working professionally with dogs. I operated a successful dog grooming salon in Glasgow and focused on nervous, fearful dogs, helping them overcome their fear of being handled - grooming the 'ungroomable'. This led to working with dogs with more complex behavioural needs, and further academic studies in this field.

My interest in dogs, their holistic well-being, their relationship with humans, and trying to be understood in our world, spurred me to gain formal qualifications in behaviour modification and training and focus on this area as a career. I’ve had the opportunity of being mentored by some of the UK's leading and most respected behaviour and training specialists during my academic and practical studies. Their drive and passion to improve the quality of dog's lives has been inspirational. As a result, I’ve been able to help many dogs through research-based behavioural modification.

I currently share my home with four canine friends, "Greta" the German Wire Haired Pointer, "Malone" the Pug, "Petra" the Rottweiler and "Zara" the Labrador.

I am fully certified and hold the following qualifications:-

  • Advanced Level 6 Diploma (degree equivalent) in Applied Behaviour and Canine Management
  • Advanced Higher Certificate in Canine Behaviour & Training (Professional Practice)
  • Advanced Higher Certificate in Canine Behaviour Practice and Aggression Studies
  • iPET Network Level 3 Award in Canine First Aid
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Professional Grooming Stylist

I attended the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour & Training leading to Accreditation by the Canine & Feline Behaviour Association (CFBA) as an Associate Member. Click here for my entry on the (CFBA) website...

Professional Dog Training Instructor with The Guild of Dog Trainers. Click here for my entry on the Guild of Dog Trainers website...

I also keep up to date with developments in canine behaviour and training by attending workshops, conferences and seminars.

Testimonials

Here are just a selection of the latest reviews I've had from my previous clients. Click here to see more...

We contacted Christina when we were experiencing behavioural changes with our 8 month old dachshund after a house fire. Before we contacted Christina Ricciardo was very nervous, took a totally different approach with people. Would fret everytime he heard a siren. Since working with Christina and the house now back to normal after 4 months. Ricciardo is slowly but surely doing so much better. Christina came out 3 or 4 times to see Ricciardo and gave us a deeper insight to how dogs minds work.to correct behaviour. Since then we’ve had constant contact if any issue has came along. Has sent across informative videos and information. We wouldn’t be where we are today without her help. Absolute miracle worker. I’d highly recommend you get in touch with Christina if you’re experiencing any behavioural issues with your dog.

Amanda Selvage - Behaviour Consultancy

I cannot recommend Christina enough.

I was experiencing recourse guarding with my 5 and a half year old. Something which we thought was new however Christina spent time chatting and there was small clues alone the way subtle but we hadn’t picked up on. It wasn’t until it became an issue of aggression shown that we reached out. We prayed it wasn’t too late and he had already learned these behaviours but Christina observed my dog in his own environment and created a plan going forward. We stuck to the plan and the difference has been incredible. Christina goes about and beyond just your scheduled appointment and is always happy to call or text. The after support is also second to none and Christine checks in to ensure everything is doing good and offers to come back out if needed. As I say she’s made a massive difference to our life and my dog now understand food boundaries. It’s great 5 star.
